List-It Tuesday 1/29 - Things You Collect

I could think of way too many things that I collect, mostly with good intentions, some intentionally, some unintentionally. Either way, the drawings below flesh out the general basis of my collections, and some of their flaws.

As for organizing materials, craft supplies, things that might be useful one day, jewelry-making supplies, and magazines--  it would be best if I actually put all of these things to use. Coupons I'm okay about using. Every once in a while, I somehow wrangle the scraps of notes into an index card file to be dealt with later -- mostly lists of blog ideas, great ideas for books I could write if I had the time, or sparks of genius that I have sometimes, etc. It's not the best system, but at least my greatest ideas have a place to live! And as for the books...I have narrowed it down to books I cannot part with, and my husband is a very VERY good sport.

  1. Oh, this was wonderful! I loved all of them. I have to admit, I understand having lots of books you won't read because you have too many library books to read. (Too funny.) And collaging, yes, me too! So many pieces of magazine that I think would be fun collaging materials.

And I have an index card file myself! So many ideas and notes on little cards. (Confession: I'm sitting having tea and writing out 2 1/2 x 3 cards right now!)

    I love this!

  5. That's pretty fun list. :) I don't bother with cat toys because thy get either lost or eaten by the dogs. Boxes will have to do for them. :)

  6. My house is filled with "things that might be useful one day" ... gone wrong. So get it.

To deal with the bitty bits of note scraps I bought a bunch of small notebooks that I carry. There is one by the bed and one in every purse... Now I just have to remember which book has which notes... but at least there are no paper scraps :)
    Great list!

  7. The cat toys made me laugh, as did the organizing materials. I've been on a big purge and downsize kick for a few years now and after a while, I found myself having to organize a bunch of empty organizers and crates...very meta. I ended up passing them on to others so as to avoid temptation to fill them with stuff, much like giving away old clothes that are too big once you lose weight!
